So complex interfaces, especially those with custom controls like DAW's, will have extra work. Plus, Apple is making changes to the UI tools in Big Sur as they merge the appearance of Macs with iOS devices like iPhone's.

Apple is really upping the security, making it harder to work at lower levels, like creating/updating drivers for communicating with attached hardware devices. Apple made it 11.0, instead go 10.16, because of the significant changes at lower levels and including the transition from Intel processors to their own processors in Macs.
It was almost as big of a transition from PowerPC to Intel, IF you're a developer that works at lower levels, like me.
